Silage Quality and Output of Different Maize–Soybean Strip Intercropping Patterns

چکیده
Intercropping improves land-use efficiency under conditions of limited land and resources, but no information is currently available pertaining to silage quality based on whole-plant utilization. Therefore, a two-year field experiment was conducted with the following conditions: three maize–soybean strip intercropping patterns (SIPs), comprising two maize rows along two, three, or four soybean (2M2S, 2M3S, 2M4S, respectively); sole cropping (SM) (SS). The aim evaluate biomass yield each condition. Our results showed that all SIPs had equivalent ratio (LER) over 1.6 both fresh dry matter yield, higher whole plant compared cropping. Specifically, 2M3S exhibited highest crop LER (1.8–1.9) (24.6–27.2 t ha?1) SM SS (20.88–21.49 3.48–4.79 ha?1, respectively). Maize–soybean mixed silages also better fermentation lactic acid content (1–3%) lower ammonia-N (2–8%) silages, crude protein (1–1.5%) (1–2%) silage. Among patterns, index V-score (92–95). Consequently, improved being recommended, due its most optimal quality.

Reaction of the Green Bean- Safflower Intercropping Patterns to Different Nitrogen Fertilizer Levels
In order to investigate the effects of nitrogen fertilizer levels and intercropping ratios on yield and other morphological traits of two crops, field experiments were conducted during two years (2010-2011) in the research field of the school of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran. The study was carried out in a factorial experiment laid out based on a completely randomized block desig...
متن کاملLight Competition in Chinese Cabbage/Maize Strip Intercropping Systems
Due to drastic socio-economic changes traditional intercropping systems in China are endangered. New high yielding intercropping systems that can easily be mechanized have to be developed. By using environmental resources more efficiently intercropping often produces higher yields compared to monocropping. Solar radiation as the strongest growth factor plays a key role when designing new interc...
